Ioan Ovidiu Sabău has announced that he wants to leave the University of Cluj, but the president of the club says he wants the coach to stay on the team's technical bench.

After 1-2 with Csikszereda, Sabău explained that he wants to obtain the termination of the contract amicably, and Radu Constantea reacted after only a few hours.

Radu Constantea wants Ioan Ovidiu Sabău to stay at U Cluj

“We want to continue with Neluțu Sabău. There were several discussions in which he wanted to give up, but we were inspired that we managed to convince him. We will try now. I will not.

We try to understand the situation, it is very high pressure on it and would have wanted to have better results. This is the phenomenon and we have to go over it. I think the president is first guilty in a club. We certainly have a fault, I think we could do better things in the summer. The players are with the money, the conditions are good, but I am convinced that the president is the first culprit. The leadership has the biggest fault.

I have a responsibility and the easiest is to go home. I do not take this into account (no to resign), but if there is someone willing to come and is more capable, then I am ready to take a step in front. Clearly there were very high expectations and. There is this pressure and we must learn to manage it. U Cluj is now in the 9th place and does not always intend to fight in the first places.

I did not think of absolutely any names, I want to have a discussion with Neluțu Sabău. I hope we do not think of another name, ”said Radu Constantea, according to digisport.ro.

Cluj University is in 9th place in the Superligi ranking, with 14 points after 12 matches.
