Max Verstappen, in search of the 4th victory of the year, at the Azerbaijan Grand Prize »As the Start grid looks like

The current Formula 1 season has entered the last third, and the 20 pilots are preparing for the 17th race of the year: Azerbaijan's big prize. For the 6th time in 2025 and for the second time in a rowMax Verstappen, the world champion quadruple, will start from the pole position.

The Dutch pilot won only 2 races in which he started the first on the starting grid, one of them being the Grand Prize of Italy, which took place 2 weeks ago, on the Monza circuit in the north of Milan.

The following on the starting grid are Carlos Sainz (Williams), Liam Lawson (Racing Bulls), Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes-Benz) and George Russell (Mercedes-Benz).

Instead, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, the McLaren pilots, are only 7th, respectively the 9th place, while Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, Ferrari pilots, occupy the position of 10, respectively the 12th position.

Azerbaijan's great prize qualifications were full of interruptions, being waved 6 times the red flag. The rain has to some extent affected the benefits of the pilots, several of them being involved in accidents. This is Alex Albon, Nico Hulkenberg, Franco Colapinto, Oliver Bearman, Charles Leclerc and Oscar Piastri.

As a result, the qualifications in Baku have set a new record in Formula 1 for most red flag displays in a qualification session.
